Lovers and Friends

[Intro - Lil' Jon]
Usher...
Lil' Jon...
Ludacris...

[Usher {with Lil' Jon}]
Yeah, man
Once again, it's on {It's on}
You know we had to do it again, right?

[Lil' Jon]
We had to do it again, boy
Want you to sing to these ladies, man

[Usher (with vocalizing)]
(Ohh-oh-oh-ohh)
A'ight, so I'm up first? A'ight, lemme have it...
(Ohh-oh-oh-ohh)
Let's do it...

[1st Verse - Usher]
Baby, how ya doin'?
Hope that 'cha fine, wanna know what you got in mind,
And I'm,
Got me fiendin' like Jodeci, girl, I can't leave you alone,
Take a shot of this here Petrone' and it's gon' be on,
V.I.P. done got way too crowded,
I'm about to end up callin' it a night,
You should holla at 'cha girl, tell her you shake it and seized,
Pull off, beep-beep, shotgun in the GT with me
She said, "Ohhh-ohhh, I'm ready to ride, yeah,"
"'Cause once you get inside, you can't change your mind,"
"Don't mean to sound invasion, but you gotta promise, baby, ohh..."

[Chorus - Usher]
Tell me again (Tell me again, my baby),
That we'll be Lovers and Friends (Ohh, I gotta know, baby, aw yeah)
Tell me again (Make sho' you right, ohh, before we leave),
That we'll be Lovers and Friends (Ohh, it's a good look, baby)...

[2nd Verse - Ludacris]
Sometime wanna be your lover,
Sometime wanna be your friend,
Sometime wanna hug ya,
Hold hands, slow-dance while the record spins,
Opened up your heart 'cause you said I made you feel so comfortable,
Used to play back then, now you all grown-up like Rudy Huxtable,
I could be your buck, you could beat me up,
Play-fight in the dark, then we both make up,
I'd do anything just to feel your butt,
Why you got me so messed up?
I don't know, but you gotta stop trippin',
Be a good girl now, turn around, and get these whippings,
You know you like it like that,
You don't have to fight back,
Here's a pillow - bite...that,
And I'll be settin' seperate plays,
So on all these separate days,
Your legs can go they separate...ways...

[Chorus - Usher]
Tell me again (Tell me again, my baby),
That we'll be Lovers and Friends (Ohh, it's a good look, baby)
Tell me again (Tell me over-and-over-and-over again),
That we'll be Lovers and Friends (Make sho' you right, before you choose)...

[3rd Verse - Lil' Jon]
I's been know you fo' a long time (shawty),
But fuckin' never crossed my mind (shawty),
But tonight, I seen sumthin' in ya (shawty),
That made me wanna get wit 'cha (shawty),
But you ain't been nuttin' but a friend to me (shawty),
And a nigga never ever dreamed to be (shawty),
Up in here, kissin', huggin', squeezin', touchin' (shawty),
Up in the bathtub, rub-a-dubbin' (shawty),
Are you sure you wanna go this route? (shawty),
Let a nigga know before I pull it out (shawty),
I would never ever cross the line (shawty),
Shawty, let me hit ya to me one mo' time...one mo' time...

[Chorus - Usher]
Tell me again (Tell me again, my baby),
That we'll be Lovers and Friends (Ohh, it's a good look, baby)
Tell me again (Make sho' you right, ohh, before we leave),
That we'll be Lovers and Friends (Tell me over-and-over-and-over again)...

[Outro - Usher]
Oh-oh-hoo
Oh-oh-hoo
Oh-oh-hoo-ohhhh-yeaaah...

[Ludacris {with Lil' Jon}]
Please tell your Lovers and Friends,
That Usher, Jon, and Luda had to do it again {Hey!! (Hey!!)}
Please tell your Lovers and Friends,
That Usher, Jon, and Luda had to do it again, that's right {Hey!! (Hey!!)}
Please tell your Lovers and Friends,
That Usher, Jon, and Luda had to do it again {Hey!! (Hey!!)}...

Body and Spirit

Today just showed me how amazing and strong the human spirit can be. My Uncle Wayne is in the hospital right now on his deathbed. He's not expected to live through the night, he almost died last night. Mom and I went up to see him today, mostly to see Aunt Jane though and let her know that we're thinking about her a lot, this is so hard on her. He looked so bad, sleeping with his eyes half open and in pain. All they're doing right now is making him comfortable because his body has given up but his spirit hasn't. They thought that they were going to lose him last night and he made it, something is making him want to stay (or maybe he's just to stubborn to die). Aunt Jane told him today that it was ok to go and that she'll be ok because the kids are there with her. Grandma told him the same thing, and that Grandpa and Uncle Bud are up there waiting for him and that it's ok to go. And yet his spirit is still holding on, even though he's in constant pain and constantly on morphine. The spirit is strong in this one. Unfortunately it's not strong enough to make him better and we'll have a funeral to go to sometime in the next week or so.

Good and bad

Hmmm, haven't done a blog format like this in a while, but it seems fitting for what I have to blog about today. I think I'll start with the bad.

Bad: Grandma had her biopsy today and now she's in a lot of pain. The hospital forgot to order her labs ahead of time, so that delayed her an hour. Then the radiologist didn't give the local time to work and had to stick her a few times (5 or 6) because the lesion was so hard. And thanks to the biopsy she has a collapsed lung and is coughing up blood in her sputum, yet the hospital discharged her and didn't even prescribe anything for the pain she's got to be in. I mean I'm sure they used like a 13 guage needle, and those suckers hurt. Now we just have to wait with her for the lab results and make sure that she does nothing for the next 24 hours

Good: I was told by one of the techs today at the lab that there's going to be a position opening on 2nd shift. That kicks ass. Sure, someone from 3rd shift will probably get the 2nd shift job, but that leaves an opening for me. Here's hoping!

Internship Recap

So I'm through two weeks of internship, and I'm liking it so far. I was in hematology this last week and I got to learn how to use the analyzer, which is real cool. I saw a nice and real recognizeable case of CLL yesterday and I even knew what to do with the slide. The techs there are awesome, they answer my questions and are always showing me cool stuff. I even got to look at sperm under the microscope the other day. A couple of the techs that I've been working the closest with have been talking to me about where I want to work once I graduate. I hope that there's an opening at Covenant once I finish because I really like that lab. Someone will just have to retire so that a 2nd or 3rd shift position can open up for me.

Yuck. There's like 5 inches of snow out there, and it's still snowing and drifting. Why can't it do this on a day that I have off and don't have to go to Saginaw?

Prayers for Grandma

I found out at dinner tonight that my dad's mom might have lung cancer. Apparently she has a mass in her right lung. She's getting some testing done tomorrow and an MRI over the weekend. I'm going to be praying a lot until we find out

ER on Thursday isn't all it's cracked up to be

I was in ER today, that was interesting. It was nuts there, blood cultures were the order of the day, had 7 sets ordered, that's 140mL of blood. But there was one patient that, well, he just has to be described. He was the last draw before going home and when we walked into the room he had a turban over his head that he made from the sheet on the bed. He was feeling himself up. He stunk. The phleb that I was with was setting up her equipment and she looked and he was just starting at her, feeling himself up. Oh yeah and this guy had a nitrile glove on his right hand. So she asked him to sit down and he did. He sat on a stool and wasn't wearing anything under his gown, and his legs were spread, I got a free show. So the phleb that I was with poked him and he swore, which is odd since he has a tattoo. But the weirdest part was, when she had the tubes on the table, he touched where you enter them and then licked his fingers clean, this was after the draw was done. Ugh

Look ma, I can draw blood!

Well I huung a round with phlebotomy today. I attempted or started to attempt a lot of draws, but only got blood from 2 people.
Patient 1: Got blood on the first stick but slipped out of the vein and didn't fill the blue top tube enough, which absolutely has to be full. Tried on his other arm and missed the vein, but he was a good sport about it.
Patient 2: Couldn't find a vein, phlebotomist had to draw out of his wrist.
Patient 3: Alzheimer's patient, had to hold her arm down because she fights it.
Patient 4: IV in anticubital fossa of right arm, couldn't use left because of mastectomy, looked in the hand and couldn't find a vein I was confident about and it took the phleb 3 tries to get enough blood.
Patient 5: Stuck and drew 3 tubes of blood.
Patient 6: Chick in labor, I stepped up to her to draw her but she didn't want me to draw her because she was having a bad day, she had good veins though.
Patient 7: Preop, good veins, had the vein, went to stick the vein, vein disappeared.
Lots of patients: assisted the nurse in PICC line draws

I think that they're trying to kill me

So, today was the first day of my internship and it was ok, a bit overwhelming sometimes cuz a lot of information was just thrown at us, but I'll survive. I think. If I can make it through this week of morning draws. 5am every day. I'm not so sure about that

New computer parts and a few random thoughts

So I just ordered the parts that I'm gonna need to fix my computer. The case is gonna kick ass and I'm almost gonna have a new computer. Only starting out with 256mb of RAM, but it's better than the paperweight that I have right now. The only thing being re-used out of my computer is going to be the harddrive and the CD ROM drives. And the best part is it's only costing me $257, which isn't that bad for a new tower. C'mon Thursday or Friday. The FedEx truck needs to get here so I can have my computer back.

I start my internship tomorrow. I'm just a little nervous about it. It seems surprising that I'm this close to the end of school and I'm supposed to know what I'm doing when it comes to real patient results. I know that I do, but you just can't stop those thoughts from poppin up every now and then. Ah well, here's to my last day of sleeping in (and by sleeping in I mean 0600.) From now on I've got to be in the lab at 0630 every day except on Fridays when I have to be there at 0500. Joy. Here goes to me having no life for the next 18 weeks!

I've had it with Huntington!

I'm closing my account there as soon as I get my financial aid refund deposited into that account. I ordered checks in November and when I ordered them the teller told me that it'd be $7.25 deducted from my account. Good thing that the bastards didn't deduct that money until December because they took $25.20 out of my account for my checks. Bastards. I'm getting an account somewhere else, they're not getting my business anymore

Sick of being sick

Damn. I'm really sick of being sick. I'm sick of coughing constantly and the itchy throat and all the joys that go with a sinus infection. At least it seems the antibiotics that I'm on are finally starting to kick in. Yay! I just wanna be better by Monday. And I wanna sleep through the night again!

Snow Day

Boy I miss those right now. We got like 7 inches of snow today. And I got up this morning and went to the doctor because I've been sick for a week and a half with what I thought was a cold. Got there a little after 9, which is when MedExpress opened but the doc wasn't there yet cuz she had to come in to Bay City from Midland, so she was late and so I didn't leave there until 10:15a and had to be to work at 11. Roads were terrible, so I called work and told them I'd be in after I got my prescription filled. Did that, came home and finished getting ready for work. Left home at 11, the time I was supposed to be at work. Almost got my car stuck in my road, slid down an overpass and almost missed my turn, couldn't see the lanes going down the highway and almost got ran off the road by a semi truck. I love driving in the snow. Didn't get to work til 11:45am. Fun
