Finally!

I'm not the most organized person, especially when it comes to my finances, so I am extremely happy right now because I finally found the error that's been taunting me for months now in my checkbook. Here's an important lesson. Double entering checks that pay off large balances on credit cards is bad.

Ch-ch-changes!

I wrote out the check yesterday morning. It seems like school application fees are more expensive when they're coming out of my wallet instead of my parents paying for them when I was applying to Ferris and Michigan State. Luckily, this time I already picked out the program and the school, so it was only one check that I had to write and then take the walk out to the mail box. I went to third shift to go back to school and it's time to do that. So after I wrote out the check yesterday morning, I walked out to the mailbox, put the application into the mailbox, closed it and lifted the flag.

Now I wait.

And while I wait, I try to find a way to enjoy my job again. I was so excited when I started 3 years ago, but now I feel cynical and bitter, and if I'm not going to burn out, I've got to get around it.

Somehow.

On a trip to the movies

The girls and I went to Bennigans and to see "The Other Boleyn Girl" last night to celebrate Kelly's birthday. Benny's was great as always and the movie was very interesting, however, the theater, left a lot to be desired.

We had to go into Saginaw to see the movie because Bay City didn't get it, which is kinda surprising because Bay City has been getting most of the good movies lately. To start off, Saginaw does not offer a student price for movies, so it cost us each $8.50 to see the movie, because they're greedy Hollywood bastards. Luckily, we were stuffed from Bennigans so we didn't have to stop and get ripped off with concessions. We got into the theater and they had some of that pre-movie stuff going on. I don't know where they got their preview stuff, but it had the most God-awful music EVER playing, it was so annoying, when you could hear it over the noise of the static. Thankfully the static stopped when the previews came on.

Now, I know that there was just a 3 month long writer's strike, but these previews for all the stuff coming out just SUCK! Let's start with The Ruins. How stupid do you have to be to go to an Aztec sacrificial temple and then actually GO DOWN the hole. We all know that's going to end bad. And the creepy worms just crawling under your skin, EW. Just EW! Then there's "Shutter," I believe it's called. It didn't impress me enough to remember the title. Spirit photography and if you're in a picture with a spirit, you die. Simple plot that's only been overdone a million times. Speaking of overdone plots, how about "Prom Night?" Sure enough, prom at a hotel with a serial killer fixated on one of the girls. And the killer just happened to escape from prison.

Come on.

Give us something original.

Or has it just been, "dig through the pile of rejected scripts for the least awful?"

At least the movie we went to go see was good. Even though, I haven't brushed up on my history in a while, so I'd forgotten the story of Anne Boleyn. I felt that it was well done and that Natalie Portman did a great job portraying Anne Boleyn. However, it seems that Natalie Portman really should stop picking roles where she plays a queen, because it seems that she has this tendency to end up dead.

Isn't it ironic?

Went to Subway tonight and they were out of bread. For some reason, I find this very amusing.

A Very PJ Day

After having a busy and somewhat crummy weekend, I've stayed in my PJ's all day today. In fact, I'm sitting in the recliner right now with my laptop, no lights on, a candle burning next to me, and watching American Idol.

Mom had surgery last week. She was in the hospital for 4 days and came home Thursday. We had to set up a bed in the living room for her, because her bed is too low for her to get in and out of right now, so it's funny seeing her in the middle of the living room fast asleep. But she's slowly recovering, and I've got her home with me for the next 5 weeks.

*yawn* Yeah, it's a good day to stay in PJ's curled up in my robe. I slept a chunk of today, and I'm still sleepy thanks to a lack of sleep lately. Gonna sleep good in a few hours.
