On life...

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, Champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming--- WOO HOO - What a Ride!

I hate my job

I swear that my schedule never stays the same for more than 12 hours at a time. Honestly, how am I supposed to have a life when they keep changing my schedule? Anywho, thanks to our asshole of a store manager, I'm working 8am-7pm tomorrow. All because he's not a good manager and decided that kids needed some extra work because during a sale it looked like a tornado swept through it. Whoop de friggen do! A GOOD manager would have stepped in and started to help out in the department, but nooooo, all the asswipe can do is tell our supervisor that she has to have people come in at 8am and stock and straighten. Blech. And then tonight Chavonne and I were the only decent zoners in the department and no one else could do anything at a decent rate to get the department how it's supposed to look. Lane is totally useless, but he's someone's kid (funny that I'm saying that since I got my job because I'm someone's kid, or well, I was when I was originally hired in) but he's just slow and useless. He's gotta get his act together or he won't make it through Christmas. Oh yeah, and I think I've got a crush on the women's department manager, he's just so good looking and nice...

Black Friday

Thanksgiving was fun, it was rather chaotic as we fed 18 people. We had our dining room table, 2 card tables and a high chair set up. Family meals are so much fun. All that time to cook (dad and I got up at 6:30am and made the stuffing and stuffed the turkey) and the food all disappears so fast. Chased the demon child from hell around the house a lot, but I actually got him to behave which was better than his mom could do. It was a fun day. Too bad that I had to go to bed at 10pm in order to be able to get up for work today.

Today was my first time ever working a Black Friday today and I didn't realize how many nuts really are out shopping at 5am. I got to the store at like 5:20 today and at both doors that I could see when I parked (out of the 5 leading into the store) there were crowds of people. It was chaos with the managers today, they couldn't find all the radios and then right away people had to have change because everyone was paying with big bills. Luckily I was in Girls 4-6X and plus, so it wasn't that bad until children's got busy later. Luckily most customers were nice, but it was still crazy. After I got back from lunch I got stuck on the registers because with all 4 registers running, the lines were still to the escalator and doorbusters ended in a half hour so we needed to get those people through the lines (even though the cash registers give you doorbuster prices for a half hour after the sale ends to get you through the line). It was nuts. I was freaking tired by the time that I got home and took a 2 hour nap. I'm still drained. Blech.

It's begun

Worked today for the first time in 3 weeks and it's official. The Christmas rush is officially here because they started playing the Christmas music. It sucks, the soundtrack isn't long enough so I heard some of the same songs 3 times today. Blech

Damn you Nicky!

"If there is someone on your friends list who you would either like to tie down and have your way with, teasing them mercilessly and making them beg for release, or have them tie YOU down, post this exact same sentence in your journal."

Um ew

Got up this morning and my back was pretty sore, which is normal, but it hurt worse than normal so I decided to head over to the pool to swim and stretch it out some and then soak in the hot tub. I was the only person there that was under the age of 60! It was nuts. And then when I was soaking in the hot tub I noticed as this one guy was getting out of it that he was wearing WHITE trunks and they weren't very lined. EW!

Workout: 500 yards mostly freestyle drill/stroke mechanics. Stretching in the hot tub
Weight loss: 4 pounds

One step closer

Well, I'm one step closer to graduation. Got my pictures taken for the composite tonight, so in 4-6 weeks I'll have uber cool pictures of me in a lab coat looking like a lab geek for anyone that wants one (once I get them scanned). My college life as I know it is coming to a close. It's bittersweet. I'm ready to get out of this hellhole *looks around her 11x14 cell* and to get out into the real world with real patients, but then I'm nervous too. I guess that's what internship is for though. I'm nervous about my internship though too. In some ways I feel like I'm not prepared to hit the hospital lab yet, but I know that I am. Must just be nerves or something. Look out world, here I come!!

Sarcasm and cafeteria food

Interesting combo, eh?

I think at times that I'm too sarcastic for my own good. Maybe I should work on that.

I think that the dining hall food tried to kill me tonight. Was I not a lab geek, I'd say that I wasn't sure how a grilled chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy and a chef salad could give me a terrible stomach ache, but yeah, notice, first thing, chicken breast, yeah, I think that I've got a good idea of what is making me sick.
