Outdoorsy day

A day spent outside is a day that ends with you tired. Today was no exception. We put the garden in today. Eleven tomato plants, 7 peppers, 6 watermelon mounds, weeded the raspberries (well mom did most of that, I have to finish that tomorrow), horseradish and strawberries and also planted lettuce, green beans and carrots. We'll be eating good if everything grows.

I bought two new birdfeeders today too. The finch feeder is hanging from the tree in the front yard and the other feeder is hanging above the pile of dirt that will be the new (maybe) butterfly and hummingbird garden if I get my way. I have a lot of planting to do this week while I'm off.

Twenty six?!

How the hell did that happen? Where'd the time go? For some reason I thought that by the time I reached this age, I'd at least have an engagement ring on my fingers. Nope. I'm still living at home too, where it's rent free. Is it time for me to "grow up" and move out? I hope not. I don't like living alone. I like having other people around. I wonder what this year will bring...

A moment of melancholy

I sit wondering

How many times

You’ll break

My aching heart.

How can I

Love you so

And feel

So hurt today.

I trusted you

When you said

You didn’t

Want me hurt.

Yet it seems

That every day

Something happens

That hurts more.

For three years

I’ve waited for

You to

Let me in.

Now when you

Need me most

I’m told

To stay away.

Things won’t get

Easier anytime soon

We need

To capitalize now.

Love is precious

I will fight

For you

The Man I Love.
