Eragon and Eldest
I recently finished reading Eragon and Eldest and as I read them, it was amazing the parallels that I drew to the Star Wars universe. Now, I haven't read Brisingr yet, but if what I've learned in the first two books holds true, then it's going to be even closer to the Star Wars series.
Eragon: Eragon is an orphan living with his uncle
Star Wars: Luke is an "orphan" living with his uncle
Eragon: Eragon finds something that belongs to the King (Saphira's egg)
Star Wars: Luke finds something that belongs to the Emperor (Death Star Plans)
Eragon: Eragon's family is killed because of Saphira's Egg
Star Wars: Luke's family is killed because of the droids
Eragon: Eragon rescues Arya from death
Star Wars: Luke rescues Leia from death
Eragon: Goes to the hidden camp of the Varden just ahead of the Urgals
Star Wars: Luke gets to the hidden Rebel base just ahead of the Imperials
Eragon: Eragon defeats the bad guy Durza with the help of Arya and Saphira
Star Wars: Luke blows up the Death Star with the help of Han and Chewie
Eldest: Eragon goes with Arya to Esmerella to train
Star Wars: Luke goes with R2 to Dagobah to train
Eldest: Eragon gets trained by an old elf
Star Wars: Luke is trained by Yoda
Eldest: Eragon learns that his father is a bad guy
Star Wars: Luke learns that his father is a bad guy
